Snow, Snowman, and Christmas Tree

Holiday Art

Alza has a children's party for all the kids that submit a drawing to the holiday card contest.
Here are the girls by their pictures. Rachel's is above her head the heart and star. Lauren's is the red wreath scribble.

Dove Home Gallery

We like to put the girls' special artwork on the wall by our front door. Usually I just add or change the pictures piecemeal but today I took all the old pictures down and put up new ones. Rachel's are the top rows and Lauren's the lower ones because Lauren sometimes likes to move the lower ones around (i.e. rip the corners).

How to paint a pretty picture

Did you ever wonder how a 4-year-old thinks? Well here is a window into Rachel's very deliberate, methodical painting process. Dots-outline edges-heart-orange-black. That's Lauren's cute dots on the left of the first picture.

Letters from Lauren

These are Lauren's "L's" and "M's"

Jewelry Designs

Rachel drew these pretty necklaces. She was especially proud of the heart and star pendants.

Rachel's gallery

Rachel did this series of drawings on my (ex-) pad of paper. After I photographed them, she decided that she needed to be the one to take pictures of them. So these are her drawings and photos.

Lauren's colorful artwork

Lauren usually only uses one or two colors so these are extra special.

How does your garden grow?

Rachel has been on a flower and bug theme lately.

Tons o' Window Art

The girls are addicted to Window Art. Mom outlines the chosen picture and then the girls squeeze paint like a mustard bottle to fill in the colors. The design dries overnight and the next day you can stick it to a window or mirror.

Here are the sliding glass doors to our backyard.

Happy Faces

Here are Lauren's first drawings of faces.

Sweet Sisters

The two girls really adore each other. Rachel wrote "Lauren is the like to share her all toys. Rachel I love Lauren."

Colored Pen Snow

Lauren likes to pound the paper with pens. Many of our pen tips are quite splintered.

Rachel = Belle

I get to do some drawings by request. Usually it is Rachel wanting to color her favorite princess, Belle. She wants to be Belle. Princess Rachel doesn't work for her.

A normal smile please

Lauren likes watercolors but needs to work on her regular smile.

To my future husband

Rachel decided that she wanted to marry Jackson, a sweet boy in her class at school. After many proposals, he accepted. Below is a picture of the happy couple.
